ICT & COMPUTER TRAINING PROGRAMME
Volunteers associated with IYS organise on a regular interval, free computer training initiatives for the students of marginalised and poor families. The target groups are usually children below the age of 14 years and the whole program is usually for a period of 15 days. Volunteers select meritorious and deserving children to provide training.
Mobile Library Service for Rural Poor
ASSP Library Service operates 3 timetables across the city to bring the library into the heart of the local community. The service is a part of ASSP’s education promotion activities. The mobile Library covers both inner and outer Bhubaneswar. ASSP’s mission is to provide access to reading, information, lifelong learning, leisure and cultural activities for the rural poor who have no access to Local librarie`s nor have purchasing power for. The mobile library has around 3,000 books in its lap. The library has three time table in and around Bhubaneswar.
The Library has-
- A range of adult fiction in regular and large print
- Oriya Language book
- Picture books for children
- Beginning readers hook
- Special collection of materials including local history, health, and sanitation, basic Ayurveda and parenting.

It also has local and council information, and different programs going on by the state and central government. Children are the future of our society. IYS’s(ASSP) Children program ‘Leave No Child Behind’s Mission is to ensure every child a Healthy Start, a Head Start, a Fair Start and a Moral Start in life and successful passage to adulthood with the help of caring families and community. With the increasing trend of first moving life the socialization among children is gradually decreasing. Heavy study burden and lack of time of parents for children compels them to depend on TV and Computer for entertainment. Again lack of recreational facilities develops inadequate psychological development among them. In this context IYS started its ‘Leave No Child Behind Mission’ to develop the out spoken talent among children and to involve children in pleasure & recreational activities an of course to develop the competition sprit among them. A child convention was organized in Khurda in 25th December 2009. Hundreds of children participated in the convention with their parents. As in star TV Funda showa Fun games like count balls from the bag or ;.ollect chocolates from the height place or pinned the balloons in a particular time frame or eat sweets chocolates in a time frame etc were played. Various competition like rhyme recitation, drawing, fancy dress competition were also organized. The winning prodigies were felicitated with prizes. This is a new type of festival of its kind, which gave a full fun to children and able to provide ample tips for parents about child psychology.
